Philip is a famous American writer living in exile in London. His mistress comes regularly to see him in his office, a refuge for the two lovers. They make love here, they argue, they reconcile and talk for hours, about the women who mark out his life, about sex, antisemitism, literature, and remaining true to oneself.

Arno Deplešen / Arnaud Desplechin
Arnaud Desplechin became an official competitor at Cannes with The Sentinel (1992), his first feature film. He then made My Sex Life... or How I Got into an Argument (1996), which introduced a new generation of great actors. The artists in his films have regularly been awarded the most prestigious prizes, notably the 61st Festival de Cannes Prize with Special Award for Catherine Deneuve in A Christmas Tale (2008). He won the César for Best Director for his film My Golden Days (2015).
Kritike / Reveiws:
French master Arnaud Desplechin creates that rare thing: a good film based on a Philip Roth novel (...) Creative in that beautifully enchanting Desplechin way.
