After being recognized as an aspiring director for his first feature film, Boy Meets Girl (1984), at the Cannes Film Festival, Leos Carax (1960) firmly established himself in the industry with his second feature, Bad Blood (1986). He also directed The Lovers on the Bridge (1991) and Pola X (1999). Holy Motors (2012), nominated in the Competition section at Cannes Film Festival 2012, was released domestically and was highly acclaimed by both audiences and critics. He received the Award for Best Director at Cannes Film Festival 2021 for film Annette.
